Our Drakensberg Amphitheatre 3-day Slack-packer trek is proving to be popular, which does not come as any great surprise I think – this is the only multi-day trek that incorporates a trip up to the top of the 3000m escarpment, yet does not require you to sleep out in tents. On the contrary, you sleep in very comfortable accommodation (Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge at 2500m has undergone a massive refurbishment) and only have to carry a change of clothes and your all-weather gear in a light pack. It can be done at any time of year and is also great for families seeking to trek in the Drakensberg. This picture is of one of our guides on the edge of the Amphitheatre on the middle day of the trek – taken by a client in February, 2015. Can you dispute the attraction?
